Twenty-something English Film graduate living in Mexico City, and studying film again (this time the practical bits and not so much essay writing.)
I left England when I was 21, did a year travelling and then set up camp in Mexico City. This wasn’t the plan, I was supposed to be here “a year / a year and a half, then come home” but that blurred into 4 years and I’m now on the cusp of picking up permanent residency. I give part-time English classes to keep immigration happy and pay for school, and the rest of the time I work freelance in productions.
I love photography, scriptwriting, producing audiovisual work, Mexican food, football (Arsenal), hip-hop and indie music, mountains, scuba-diving, running, animals. tequila, traveling, and so on.
I originally set this page up to document my expat life and the craziness that is Mexico City, then I had an attack of conscious and decided to stop littering the internet with dribble and instead now am showcasing my personal photography and videos which I think might just be worth sharing 🙂
Feel free to let me know what you think. Enjoy!
I wish you the best of luck with life and writing.
Hey, thanks for commenting. Hope you enjoy the posts, and good luck with the film challenge!
I’m with you– 6 months back home in the States and I was itching to get out again. Cheers to making it happen for yourself!
A big cheers! Might not be the easiest decision to make after getting back home and being around everyone again but it’s completely worth it!
Very recognizable. It has taken me a long time to sit down and start writing again. I have been blogging for about 9 months now and it is only now that I am finally starting to touch the subject of my travels. Sometimes you need some perspective first. But you seem to be well on your way now!
Cheers! It took a while to get into the habit of doing it regularly but I’m definitely feeling better about it now 🙂 Thanks for swinging by!

The award is ready. Check it out!
Where is that picture on the Lada on your cover? Is that a Russian Lada–the car? Those things were everywhere in the Republic of Georgia.
It was taken in Zacatecas, in the north of Mexico. I’m pretty sure it’s a lada, yeah. A rarity here. There’s tons of old beetles knocking around though!!
WTF how did that get to Mexico? By way of Cuba is my guess.
You had me at bacon sarnie. I like the way you write, my good man. Best of luck on the rollercoaster x
thanks, appreciate the compliment! Ha, I’d do wicked things for a bacon sandwich right now! Hope you enjoy the posts!

Thank you very much 🙂 I will get on that at some point during the week. I’ve just come back from a weekend at the beach so am on a little comedown and sulking into my work at the min! Thanks again, and have a great week!
Wow, what a life!
Thank you! Trying to keep it as glamerous as working around a 50 hour work week allows 🙂
Hello, I nominated you for the Liebster Award, check out my post http://iloveairplanefood.com/2013/08/27/liebster-award-nomination/ and please answer my questions in a blog post of your own! xx
Hey, thanks a lot I’ll get round to it later in the week 🙂
I do this all the time. Say I’ll write and I never seem to get around to it. It’s so much easier said than done, or rather, written. In theory it seems so fun but in practice it becomes frustrating and tedious at times. The only thing I can seem to write is on my blog and it’s a pathetic once in awhile. Anyway, 23 countries is awesome…I can’t wait until I can say I did that.
Haha yeah its a tricky one – the blogging does help get in the habbit, but its another distraction too! MUCH easier said than done. Good luck racking up the countries – what a horrible challenge 😛
We share common goals 🙂 Though you’ve lived one of my dreams – to travel everywhere. Britain is just so rubbish for breaking into the film industry I feel!
I remember thinking that in my final year at uni – ‘bugger, I haven’t been a tea boy for anybody and my parents don’t have a connection to help me out’ lol. Think it’s a case of doing a lot of things independently to demonstrate the passion etc, it’s just a little difficult when nobody is paying you for it! I was lucky enough to be offered my position in the production house the day I quite my previous job. Moving abroad where the market is a little different might be a good option for lots more people looking to get that first bit of experience…
Where’s #1 on your travel wish list?
I don’t really have a number one! Places I want to go are Finland, USA, Canada, Australia. But anywhere really! I just don’t feel like I don’t have what it takes to make it in the industry.. but I’ll keep trying!
Hey Will, I found your blog by chance and I’m very glad I did. 🙂 You have a talent here, please don’t stop writing! Thanks for sharing and greetings from the sunny Bay Area,
E.
